Our quality control laboratory offers a lot of services to customers either directly or indirectly.
Services directly offered to customers involve a great variety of Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as chemical analyses, hardness measurements, mechanical tests, penetrant fluid, magnetic particle and ultrasonic tests. Furthermore, one of the most popular quality control services offered directly to customers is failure analysis. KIMI involves multidisciplinary skills and experience in such projects in order to collect and analyze data and discover failure causes. Each failure analysis approach is tailored to the requirements of the specific project and involves a combination of the following techniques:
- Chemical analysis
- Tensile and hardness testing
- Non Destructive Tests (NDT)
- Metallography
- Fractography
- Visual inspection
- Dimensional inspection including CMM and 3D scanning techniques
Our quality control engineers participate in all intermediate repair stages, quality assurance by checking dimensions, possible surface and sub-surface defects. They also conduct final inspection in order to ensure zero defects after the completion of the repair orders. Preliminary, final and in some cases inter-stage records are kept in our integrated Information System and are provided to our customers upon request.
It is worth mentioning that our personnel is Level II EN473 certified, a fact that increases the validity of the NDT tests carried out and the certificates provided. Also the quality control laboratory has been accredited by Hellenic Accreditation Systems S.A. (ESYD) under the terms of the ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard.
