During scheduled maintenance of Steam Turbine Unit No3, 330MW, the high-pressure turbine rotor was refurbished by means of removing old radial sealing J-strips by machining, installation of new and machining to desired dimensions. Along with the rotor, the high-pressure casing was also repaired in the same way. Repairs were completed in two weeks, keeping shutdown time to the shortest possible. GE service engineers who were attending expressed their satisfaction with both lead time and quality of work.
